Here’s an oldie but goodie from Dr. Cait!

The title of this article is a rather bold statement, but in truth, I’m not the one healing you.  With adjustments, I am helping your body to heal, however, I’m not doing the actual healing.  Our bodies have an innate drive to be healthy and to function at the highest capacity possible.  In order to do that, there are a myriad of factors that can either help or hurt that process.

How we eat, drink, exercise, sleep, deal with stress, process foods, interact with others, etc.  are some of the more controllable factors.  Chiropractic helps with one of the internal, more difficult to change portions.  Our main goal is to remove restrictions on the flow of the nervous system.  If you were trying to drink water out of a straw with a bend in it, would you get some water?  Sure, but you’d have to exert some effort.  By removing the bend in the straw, the water flows more easily and with less effort.  We are helping to remove those bends in the nervous system.  This allows your body to do the same functions, but with less effort that can then be used to help your body heal.

This is the main reason for continuing to have regular adjustments especially when you aren’t in pain.  Pain is the last symptom to show up and the first to go away.  Regular adjustments help the body to respond better to mental, emotional, chemical and physical stress.  We are bombarded with these stressors constantly and chiropractic adjustments help to reverse the damage and allow your body to do what it does best.
